Description:
The
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is rated among the best trekking trips in the
world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. These
include different ecological areas from high deserts to Andean tropical
rainforest. Following this ancient Inca trail we will be walking through
mysterious archeological sites, half covered by jungle overgrowth, that
looks like you are discovering them for the first time and finally arriving
to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Our journey is managed by
experienced guides that will make your trip most pleasant and safe. All
of our luggage will be carried by native “quechua” porters.

1 Sun CHILLCA / LLACTAPATA |

Transfer
to Chillca, we start our trek escorted by a native bilingual guide
going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent
views of snow capped mount Ver—nica. You will arrive to the camp at
Llactapata, an ancient Inca citadel that protected the entry to the
two valleys. (B, L, D) |

2 Mon LLACTAPATA / LLULLUCHA |
|
After
a healthy breakfast we pass the Inca Hamlet of Huayabamba, continuing
through an Andean cloud forest to our camp at Llulluchapampa. (B,

Day
3 Tue LLULLUCHA / PHUYUPATAMARCA |
|
Today
the first part of the trek takes us to the Warmiwa–Usca pass at 13,500ft,
walking on a remarkably preserved Inca trail passing ancient archaeological
sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth. You will camp at Phuyupatamarca
(city above the clouds) with a spectacular view of snow covering the
Andean ranges. (B, L, D) |

4 Wed PHUYUPATAMARCA / MACHU PICCHU |
|
Passing
through the Intipuncu, (Gates of the sun), we arrive at Machu Picchu
the lost City of the Incas. You will take a guided tour of the ruins.
Then proceed to the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes to board the
train to return in Cuzco. (B, L) |

the lost City of the Incas. We will visit the picturesque town of
Aguas Calientes were we’ll spend the night and you may enjoy a relaxing
bath at the Hot Springs. Overnight at the Hatuchay Towers hotel in

5 Thu MACHU PICCHU/HUAYNA PICCHU/CUZCO |
|
After
an early morning rise and breakfast we’ll take a bus up to visit the
lost city of Machu Picchu. An optional hike for the more dynamic persons
on the group would be to hike up to Huaynapicchu, the pyramid shape
peak that overlooks Machupicchu. Late afternoon you will board the
train back to Cuzco. B |
