1 USA-Managua |

Depart
USA to Managua. You will be met, assisted & transferred to your
hotel. Nested at the shores of Lake Managua, Managua is a low-rise
city that spans a huge area. Destroyed by the 1972 earthquake, the
city is not fully restored, though some of the old buildings have
been restored & new ones are rising at a fast pace. The remainder
of the day is at leisure |
Day
Managua (MASAYA VOLCANO-INDIAN MARKET)
A
morning tour visits the old down town, the Presidential House, the
Convention Center, Louis Alfonzo Velasquez Park, the old Metropolitan
Cathedral, the Ruben Dario National Theater, and the Roberto Huembes
Market. This market is a very interesting place for arts & crafts
of artists from all over the country. Then visit the Acahualinca
archaeological museum where you can view footprints of man & animals
fleeing from volcanic eruption some time around 6,000-10,000 years
ago. B

3: Ometepe Island - Santo Domingo Beach |

This tour starts with a transfer to the port of San Jorge, close
to Rivas, to the impressive Ometepe Island and its two volcanoes.
During the trip you will get to know the small picturesque villages
and the everyday life of the people. One of the most popular events
during this first day is the barbecue picnic served on one of the
best beaches. In the afternoon you will enjoy the charm of the place
and the refreshing water of Lake of Nicaragua. Accommodation in
Hotel Villa Paraiso (or similar) in Santo Domingo. |

4: Santo Domingo Beach - Alta Gracia- Granada |

After
breakfast you leave for the village Alta Gracia to visit the church
and the rustic local museum. You then go back to the colonial town
of Granada where a guided tour will lead you to the principal monuments
and attractions of the city. Dinner and accommodation in one of
Granada's best hotels. |

5: Catarina- Masaya Volcano - Handicraft Market in Masaya - Islands
of Grand:
Today
a tour will take you to Nicaragua’s “must see” destination: Masaya.
The tour begins in the village of Catarina, taking in the majestic
view over the Lagoon of Apoyo. In Masaya, you visit the handicraft
market, where you ca buy handmade native art. Your next destination
is the Masaya Volcano, with its active crater Santiago and beautiful
scenery overlooking the Lake of Nicaragua. Before going back to
the hotel, you will make a relaxing and peaceful boat trip to the
Islands of Granada. While there, take a tour to the most interesting
cultural, historical and architectural attractions of the city.
Enjoy our dinner in Granada and take time to explore the nightlife
on your own.
Day
6: San Carlos- "El Castillo" - Wildlife Refugee of Bartola lodge.
Leave
Granada in the morning to visit San Carlos, the heart of the region
of River San Juan and close to the Costa Rican border. Travel by
boat to "El Castillo", a powerful testament of Nicaraguan history,
constructed to protect the country from British and Dutch pirates.
The trip continues through the jungle of River San Juan until you
get to the Wildlife Refugee Bartola. In this exotic place you will
have many opportunities to experience the nature and wildlife. Dinner
and accommodation provided in a local lodge.

7: Cloud forest Indio Maiz |

Today
you will have another opportunity to explore the immense and exuberant
tropical forest and participate in activities like canoe tours in
River Barolo, hiking in the mountain and excellent bird watching.

8: River San Juan- Solentiname Archipelago |
|
A
tour will takes you back to the port of San Carlos on the edge of
River San Juan, and from there continue to the Solentiname Archipelago,
via Lake of Nicaragua. Lunch is served at the hotel and in the afternoon
you will enjoy the marvelous culture and nature of the island. Dinner
and accommodation in the Hotel Mancarron. |

9: The Reserve of Los Guatuzos - Managua |

This
morning you board your boat to the Reserve of Los Guatuzos, a paradise
for ornithologists and bird lovers. Thereafter you will return to
San Carlos and from there catch a flight to Managua.*Continue with
your flight to the USA |
