Day 1 Thu DEPART USA
Depart New York via overnight transatlantic flight with meals on board. Day 2 Fri CAIRO You will be met at Cairo’s airport by your host, who will assist you through custom & baggage claim formalities & transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Day 3 Sat CAIRO (MUSEUM-PYRAMIDS & SPHINX) A full day tour today takes you to the impressive Cairo Museum of Antiquities. It houses treasures from the 1st to the 31st dynasties of Egypt’s Pharaos including the burial treasure of king Tutankhamun. From there you proceed to the 4,500 year old Pyramid of Cheops & the enigmatic sphinx. The towering pyramid stands majestically in a desert plateau with two slightly smaller pyramids (one built by Cheop’s son Kephren & the other by Mycerinus), erected to preserve their bodies & treasures for the afterlife. | Day 4 Sun CAIRO-ALEXANDRIA |
| Today you will drive north towards the Mediterranean to the city of Alexandria, once the Queen City of the Mediterranean & meeting place of Julius Caesar & Cleopatra. Sightseeing includes Pompey’s Pillar, the fort of Qait Bey, the Amphitheater, the Greek-Roman museum of Antiquities & more. Then proceed to the hotel for overnight. B |
| Day 5 Mon ALEXANDRIA-CAIRO |
| In the morning you will visit the Catacombs, the Royal Jewelry museum and the Montazah Gardens. After lunch (optional) you will drive back to Cairo along the desert road for overnight. B |

Day 6 Tue CAIRO-LUXOR (CRUISE)-EAST BAN
Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Luxor, to board the Nile cruise ship. Afternoon sightseeing includes the Temples of Karnak & Luxor. Colossal statues, pylons, hypostyle halls & majestic obelisks built over the centuries & dedicated to god Amon-Ra, his consort Mut & their son Khonsu. Dinner on board followed with a belly dance show. The ship will overnight in Luxor. B, L, D Day 7 Wed LUXOR (WEST BANK) -EDFU You will cross the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings & Queens where dynasties of Pharaos are buried, the Great Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, the Temple of Ramses III & the Colossi of Memnon at Medinet Habu. You sail to Edfu in the afternoon. In the evening enjoy the captain’s cocktail party followed by dinner. The ship will overnight in Edfu. B, L, D ![]() |
| Day 8 Thu EDFU-KOM OMBO |
| In Edfu you will visit the superbly preserved Temple of the falcon god & master of the sky Horus. Afternoon sailing to Kom Ombo where you will visit the Temple shared by two gods, Sobec the crocodile god & Haroeis the sun god. Dinner on board followed with a Calabeya party. Day 9 Fri KOM OMBO-ASWAN
Today you will sail to the Nubian town of Aswan. Sightseeing begins with a visit to the high Dam, built to control the flooding of the Nile. Then sail by boat to the Temple of Isis, rising off the waters of Lake Naser on the island of Philae. Continue on to the ancient Granite Quarries & the enormous 170 foot-long unfinished obelisk. In the afternoon you will sail by felucca (local sailboat) around Elephantine Island to view the Agha Khan Mausoleum & Kichener’s island. Dinner on board is followed by a Nubian folkloric show. The ship will overnight in Aswan. B, L, D Day 10 Sat ASWAN-CAIRO Disembark after breakfast & transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairo (optional excursion to Abu Simbel is available before your flight to Cairo).
