Itinerary

 

Day 1 Tue DEPART USA

Depart New York via overnight transatlantic flight with meals on board.

Day 2 Wed CAIRO


You will be welcomed by your host at Cairo’s airport who will assist you with customs & baggage claim formalities then transfer you to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure.

Day 3 Thu CAIRO (MUSEUM-PYRAMIDS & SPHINX)

Full day tour visits the impressive Cairo Museum of Antiquities. Considered as one of the most prominent in the world, it houses treasures from the 1st to the 31st dynasties of Egypt’s Pharaohs including the burial treasure of King Tutankhamen. Then you proceed to Giza to see the 4,500 year old majestic pyramid of Cheops & the enigmatic Sphinx. B
Day 4 Fri CAIRO-ASWAN (CRUISE)-KOM OMBO

Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the Nubian town of Aswan in Upper Egypt to board your Nile cruise ship (optional excursion to Abu Simbel is offered). Afternoon sightseeing includes the high Damn, built to control the flooding of the Nile, the old Damn & the Granite Quarries. Saiul to Kom Ombo in the evening. Overnight in Kom Ombo. B, L, D

Day 5 Sat KOM OMBO-EDFU ESNA-LUXOR

While in Kom Ombo, you visit the Temple shared by two gods, Sobec the crocodile god & Haroeis the sun god, which offers beautiful murals and a splendid view of the Nile. Sail to Edfu to visit the superbly preserved Temple of the falcon god & master of the sky Horus. Then you sail to Esna, cross the lock & continue to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. B, L, D

Day 6 Sun LUXOR (VALLEY OF KINGS & QUEENS)
You will cross the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings where dynasties of Pharaos are buried, the Great Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, the Temple of Ramses III & the Colossi of Memnon at Medinet Habu. The ship will overnight in Luxor. B, L, D
Day 7 Mon LUXOR (KARNAK & LUXOR TEMPLES)-CAIRO
Disembark after breakfast & visit the Karnak & Luxor Temples. Then transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. You will be met & transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure in Cairo.

Day 8 Tue CAIRO-USA
Morning, transfer to the airport for your flight home. B
