Day 1 USA-SAN JOSE
Day
4 TORTUGUERO-SAN JOSE-ARENAL
In the morning, fly to San Jose where you will be met & start your trip by shuttle bus to Arenal, via scenic San Ramon & the plains of San Carlos. It is a landscape of exceptional beauty, where you can see the volcano through the clouds. Proceed to your Lodge in the area. The remainder of the day is at leisure. B Day 5 ARENAL (VOLCANO & TABACON THERMAL BATHS) The morning is at your leisure. In the afternoon you will visit the Tabacon Thermal Baths Resort where you can enjoy the luscious gardens & pools of therapeutic water heated to a perfect temperature by the Arenal Volcano. The Arenal is Costa Rica’s most active volcano & erupts frequently, providing an unforgettable spectacle of sound & light, lava & ash. B, D Day 6 ARENAL-GUANACASTE Today you will be transferred by shuttle bus to Guanacaste province in the North Pacific coast. It is Costa Rica’s largest region with unique towns, fantastic beaches, belching volcanoes & unbelievable wildlife. You will be transferred to your hotel in Playa Tamarindo, Playa Tambor or Playa Conchal. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beach & the beautiful surroundings. B Depart USA. Upon your arrival you will be met assisted & transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.  Day 2 SAN JOSE-TORTUGUERO Drive through the Braulio Carrillo National Park & the Atlantic coast lowlands to the canal area to board a boat for your trip through the waterways of the Tortuguero Canals. For the next two hours you are sure to see some of the most diversified wildlife in the world. After arriving at the lodge you can relax & enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner is at the hotel. B, L, D Day 3 TORTUGUERO This morning tour Tortuguero’s canals in smaller boats that will allow you a closer look at the flora & fauna in the canals hard to reach areas. Relax the rest of the day & enjoy the comforting sounds of the nature, fishing, canoeing & exploring on your own. Between May through October an optional night tour is available to see giant turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs. Dinner & overnight B, L, D

Take two days to discover this fascinating area on your own. Enjoy the beach and the facilities of your hotel or take optional tours. B Day 9 GUANACASTE-SAN JOSE You will be transferred to the local airstrip for your short flight to San Jose where you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Take this last opportunity to shop or explore the city on your own. B   |
