1 USA-RIO DE JANEIRO
Depart
USA via overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro with meals on board.
Day
2 RIO DE JANEIRO
Meeting
and assistance upon arrival and transferral to your hotel. Rio is
a sophisticated center of culture, music, dance and legendary nightlife,
and is woven between 20 miles of white sand beaches trimmed by green
rolling peaks. Its breathtaking beauty has made it one of the world’s
most attractive cities. Remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day
3 RIO DE JANEIRO (CORCOVADO)
A
drive through the city takes you to the Cosme Velho train station.
The cog-wheeled train will climb up through the Tijuca Rain Forest
to Corcovado Mountain, about 2200 feet above sea level, and to the
steps of the 125-foot statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio’s signature
landmark. Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro, the
Guanabara Bay, Rio & Niteroy 9-mile Bridge, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon
and the Atlantic Ocean. The afternoon is free to explore the city
on your own. (B)

4 RIO DE JANEIRO (SUGAR LOAF) |
|
Drive
along Rio’s famous beaches passing through traditional and historical
sites to the Praia Vermelha cable car station. The cable car first
will take you to the Urca Mountain (mid-way station) with its gardens
and look out points. The second part of the ride will take you to
the peak of the Sugar Loaf Mountain the guardian of Guanabara Bay,
1300 ft. above sea level. The afternoon is at leisure. (B) |

5 RIO DE JANEIRO-IGUASSU FALLS
Today
you will fly to Iguassu Falls. Located near the Junction of Brazil,
Argentina and Paraguay in the Iguassu National Park, one of the largest
reserves of subtropical jungle, the cataracts are formed by 275 different
cascades spanning two and half miles across. You will be transferred
to your hotel. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of the Brazilian
side of Iguassu Falls to admire the beauty and abundance of one of
the world’s great natural wonders. (B)

6 IGUASSU FALLS-BUENOS AIRES
You
will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires.
Meeting and assistance and transferral to your hotel. The balance
of the day is at leisure. Perhaps visit Florida Avenue for fine shopping
or the artist’s market in Caminito or experience the city’s nightlife
for which Buenos Aires is famous. (B)

7 BUENOS AIRES
Located
on the Rio de la Plata, the widest estuary in the world, Buenos Aires
is the most elegant city in South America. Morning tour of the city
visits the historical complex of Plaza the Mayo with the Government
House, the historical Cabildo and the Cathedral, Congress Palace,
Colon Opera House (acoustically one of the world’s best). Continue
to the Italian section of La Boca, the old San Telmo quarters, the
beautiful parks and Gardens in Palermo and Ricoleta with its elegant
side walk cafes, restaurants and its famous cemetery. The Remainder
of the day is at leisure. (B)

8 BUENOS AIRES (ESTANCIA TOUR) |
|
After
your early morning departure from the hotel, travel to the Pampas
to feel another aspect of Argentine life. The Pampas are a blend of
traditional Gaucho lore and modern agro-industry. You will visit a
typical Argentine Estancia (ranch) to feel the atmosphere of country
life, which contrasts so sharply with the life of Buenos Aires. Enjoy
an “empanada” and the traditional “asado” barbecue together with live
folk and Tango music. The Gauchos will display their riding abilities
and a typical “sortija” ring race. (B, L) |

9 BUENOS AIRES-BARILOCHE
Today
you will fly to San Carlos de Bariloche. Located on the shores of
Lake Nahuel Huapi in an unbelievably beautiful area, this Swiss style
mountain resort is surrounded by dense forests, alpine lakes and mountains
boast some of the most remarkable scenery in Argentina. You will be
transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

10 BARILOCHE
Morning
tour takes you along the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake to Playa Bonita
for a spectacular view of the Huemul Island. Continue to Campanario
hill (optional chair lift can be taking to enjoy spectacular views)
and to Llao Llao peninsula to visit its chapel and the famous Llao
Llao hotel with its beautiful architecture and views. Proceed to Puerto
Panuelo and Cerro Lopez where panoramic views of lakes and peninsulas
will surprise you. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

11 BARILOCHE-PEULLA (CHILE) |
|
Today
a spectacular journey through the Andes takes you to the Chilean City
of Peulla. First, drive to Puerto Panuelo to board a motor boat to
cross Nahuel Huapi Lake to Puerto Blest. Continue by bus to Puerto
Alegre to board another boat to cross the Frias Lake to Puerto Frias
& continue by bus along a dense forest to the Chilean border. After
you clear customs you will proceed to the hotel in Peulla for dinner
and overnight. (B, D) |

Day
12 PEULLA-PUERTO MONTT
The
journey continues this morning. Board a boat to cross the Todos Los
Santos Lake to Petrohue at the base of Osorno Volcano. Visit the Petrohue
falls & continue by bus driving along Llanquihue Lake to Puerto Varras
and then to Puerto Montt a charming seaport town with a beautiful
setting on the gulf of Ancud in southern Chile for overnight. Germans
settled Puerto Montt in 1852 and their heritage is evident in its
architecture. Attractive Alpine houses with decorative balconies abound
and the scenery throughout the area is spectacular. (B)

13 PUERTO MONTT-SANTIAGO
Today
you will fly to Santiago where you will be transferred to your hotel.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Santiago, with the snow-capped
Andes as its backdrop, is a cosmopolitan city which offers excellent
shopping, a wide range of restaurants and good nightlife. (B)

14 SANTIAGO
Morning
tour of the city takes you through old & modern
residential areas;
Club Hipico, Cousino Palace, Union Club, Plaza the Armas, Chilean
University, San Francisco church, Santa Lucia Hill (site of the city’s
foundation), the Cathedral, and the pre-Colombian Art Museum are among
the highlights. You will drive up San Cristobal Hill with a commanding
view of the city and its surroundings, and upon crowning the hill,
the imposing statue of Virgin Mary greets you. The afternoon is free
to explore the city on your own. (B)

15 SANTIAGO (VINA DEL MAR-VALPARAISO)
Drive
through the picturesque Chilean countryside to historic Valparaiso.
The main seaport of Chile founded in 1536. You will visit both the
old and modern districts to see Victory Square, dock and wharf area,
the Naval Academy & Santa Maria University. Continue to Vina del Mar
main seaside resort of Chile known as the Garden City driving along
a coastal highway of impressive beauty. Visit includes Plaza Vergara,
Sausalito Park, San Martin Avenue and more, Return to Santiago. (B,)

16 SANTIAGO-USA |
|
The
day is at leisure. Perhaps walk at the Plaza the Armas, visit Los
Graneros Del Alma shopping village, or Belavista, a center for art
galleries, jewelry shops and charming cafes. In the evening you will
