1 USA-RIO DE JANEIRO
Depart
USA via overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro with meals on board
Day
2 RIO DE JANEIRO
Meeting & assistance upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your
hotel. The former capital of Brazil sits in one of the world’s most
magnificent harbors & it is considered by many to be the world’s
most beautiful city. The balance of the day is at your leisure.
Day
3 RIO DE JANEIRO (SUGAR LOAF)
Today you will drive along Rio’s famous beaches passing through
traditional & historical sites to the Praia Vermelha cable car station. The
cable car first will take you to the Urca Mountain (mid-way station)
with its gardens & look out points. Then, the second part of the
ride will take you to the peak of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the guardian
of Guanabara Bay, 1300 ft. above sea level. Return to your hotel.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure. B

4 & 5 RIO DE JANEIRO |
|
Woven
between 20 miles of white sand beaches & trimmed by green rolling
peaks, Rio is a sophisticated center of culture, music, dance &
a legendary nightlife. These days are at leisure to enjoy this beautiful
city. You may chose to enjoy the beach, stroll around or take optional
tours to; Corcovado Mountain, about 2200 feet above sea level, to
the steps of the 125-foot statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio’s signature
landmark, to Imperial Petropolis, summer place of Brazil’s last
emperor during the colonial times, or a schooner cruise/tour to
the tropical islands. In the evenings you might want to experience
Rio’s nightlife. Dine in one of the local Churascarias & enjoy a
Samba show in one of the Samba show houses in Rio. B |

Day 6 RIO-SALVADOR DA BAHIA
Transfer
to the airport for your flight to Salvador. Founded in 1549, it
was the first point discovered by the Portuguese & the first capital
of the country. The cultivation of sugar cane and cocoa made it
one of the wealthiest areas. Slaves from Africa were the workforces
and their influence can be seen in the visual arts and the music.
Balance of the day is at leisure. B
Day 7 SALVADOR DA BAHIA
This
striking city lies on beautiful Santos Bay & is divided into an
upper and lower section. The enormous Lacerda elevator, which goes
from one level to the other, affords outstanding views of multicolored
homes, red-tiled roofs, twisting narrow cobblestone streets and
the Santos Bay. Morning tour visits; Porto de Bara (point of the
city’s foundation), Ladeira de Bara, N.S de Vitoria church, Costa
Pinto Museum, Dois de Julho Square, Castro Alves Theater, San Pedro
Church, Castro Alves Square (heart of Bahia’s carnival). Proceed
to Terreiro de Jesus Square with the Church of San Francisco; Largo
do Pelourinho, Carmo Museum and more. The afternoon is at leisure.

8 SALVADOR DA BAHIA
The
day is at leisure to enjoy this fascinating city. You may decide
to enjoy the beach, stroll around or take an optional schooner cruise
to “Todos os Santos” All Saints Bay to visit “Frades” Monk Island,
Itaparica Island, Sao Lourenco Fortress & Fonte de Bica. B, L
